Dear Parent/Guardian:

Welcome back to the 2020 - 2021 school year! As per the Palisades School District’s Reopening Health and Safety Plan, we will make every effort to transition your child(ren) back to a safe, nurturing school environment.

When our students return to school on Monday, August 31, our teachers will be ready to greet them and provide a positive school experience.  As always, we look forward to getting to know each and every child, meeting their academic and social/emotional needs, and challenging them to be the best they can be.

We will continue to implement the School Wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (SWPBIS) program.  Students will learn how to be respectful, responsible, and kind in the classroom, hallway, bathroom, cafeteria, at recess, and on the bus.  We will introduce new expectations in these areas which will include wearing a mask, social distancing, and hand washing.  These expectations will be explicitly taught to students by their teachers during the first few weeks of school.  Once again this year, students will have the opportunity to earn reinforcements for their positive behavior.  The behavioral data collected through discipline reports helps us track behavior patterns in various environments and re-teach expectations as necessary.  We appreciate your efforts at home to support this endeavor.

The district will provide hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes.  However, it is optional if you would like to send your child to school with these items. Students will be required to have a mask with them at all times.  It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to provide their child(ren) with a clean mask each day. We also encourage students to bring their own water bottle and a beach towel  to sit on when class is held outside.

Below is a list of supplies which will be required for your student’s grade level whether they will be attending face-to-face or participating in the Palisades Cyber Academy.  For those attending face-to-face, we will be providing each student with a tote bag for their school supplies which can be taken home each night to be sanitized.
