Dear Parent/Guardian:

I hope that you and your family are enjoying your summer and having fun!  Back at school, we are getting ready for the 2024 – 2025 school year.

When our students return to school on Monday, August 26, our teachers will be ready to greet them and provide new, exciting school experiences.  As always, we look forward to getting to know each and every child, meeting their academic needs, and challenging them to be the best they can be.

We will continue to implement the School Wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (SWPBIS) program.  Students will learn how to be respectful, responsible, and kind in the classroom, hallway, bathroom, cafeteria, at recess, and on the bus.  These expectations will be explicitly taught to students by their teachers during the first two weeks of school.  Once again this year, students will have the opportunity to earn reinforcements for their positive behavior.  The behavioral data collected through discipline reports helps us track behavior patterns in various environments and re-teach expectations as necessary.  We appreciate your efforts at home to support this endeavor.

In addition to our schoolwide positive behavior program, all classrooms will be using Zones of Regulation.  This is a conceptual framework to teach students self-regulation.  This will help students recognize and communicate how they are feeling in a safe, non-judgmental way.  We will teach students to use strategies or tools to help them move between zones (i.e. blue, green, yellow, red).
